Capco is seeking an experienced Developer with Prompt Engineering to join our Technology & Engineering practice in Toronto on a contract basis (4 days per week). This is an existing vacancy supporting the delivery of innovative technology solutions for leading financial services clients. You will play a key role in designing and developing scalable backend Python applications while leveraging AI technologies. Prompt Engineering is a core requirement for this role, and you will work extensively with Generative AI techniques to build intelligent, production-ready solutions for our clients. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and modern software engineering best practices. * Develop and optimize prompts using Generative AI prompt engineering techniques to support enterprise AI solutions. * Build and integrate APIs and backend services that enable AI-powered applications. * Collaborate with architects, data specialists, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions. * Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Strong commercial experience developing backend applications using Python. * Hands-on experience with Prompt Engineering, including Generative AI prompt engineering techniques (essential). * Experience working with AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI solutions. * Experience building RESTful APIs and scalable backend architectures. * Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile delivery teams.
