Position Overview: Ready Mix Drivers play a crucial role in our operations by operating heavy-duty gasoline or diesel-powered tandem, rear axle, or single unit vehicles to transport ready-mix, aggregate, water, materials, and equipment. Responsibilities: * Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. * Communicate with customers and dispatch regarding product delivery and other important information. * Safely deliver products to project locations in a timely manner. * Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment as needed. * Secure items for transport and maintain proper load balance. * Complete daily driver inspections and promptly report any issues to supervisors or fleet managers. * Maintain accurate truck logs in compliance with government regulations. * Inspect and maintain truck and construction equipment. * Operate hand and power tools as necessary. * Adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and participate in Company-wide safety goals. Qualifications & Requirements: * Must be 18 years of age. * Valid driver's license and good driving record; CDL Class B required. * Tanker endorsement and medical card are optional but useful. * Forklift Operator certification (provided by Dells Materials Company). * Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to follow written and oral instructions. * Ability to work collaboratively with others. * Equipment operator experience is helpful. * Availability for overtime and weekend work when required. * Position is subject to seasonal winter layoff periods. Physical Demands & Work Environment: * Regular standing and frequent walking. * Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally more than 100 pounds. * Multiple entries and exits from trucks/equipment during the day. * Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. * Exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and loud noise. * Occasional exposure to high places, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold/heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
