Role Summary  This Research Associate (RA) will support the Analytical Development team of scientists to perform routine testing of samples and prepare for analytical assays designed for AAV-based gene therapy programs. This will include assisting with maintenance of cell cultures, performing proceduralized molecular assays (e.g., qPCR/ddPCR), and maintaining the laboratory space. This RA will also assist in supporting the daily operation and organization of the research laboratory. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures Communicates questions, observations, and/or data findings with scientists to resolve challenges and gain scientific understanding Independently performs routine testing methodologies for AAV gene therapy vectors – including assays PCR-based assays and/or ELISA Identifies risks in assay performance, communicates them effectively, and supports mitigation efforts Maintains cell cultures and ensures reagents/supplies are ready-to-use Collaborates across teams to raise awareness and/or to collect, analyze, document and report data Performs routine laboratory activities such as material procurement, media and reagent preparation, and inventory organization Participates in regular team meetings (both in-person and virtually)  REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 1 – 3 years of  relevant, hands-on experience in academia and/or industry Hands-on experience with gene therapy products is highly desirable Working knowledge of analytical assay development, including molecular, immuno-, and cell-based assays (e.g., dPCR/ddPCR/qPCR, ELISA) Basic understanding of FDA regulations, cGxPs, and ICH guidelines is a plus Proficiency in using electronic laboratory notebooks (e.g., Benchling) for documentation, data analysis, and collaboration Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment A proactive, team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.  About LEXEO  Lexeo Therapeutics is a clinical-stage genetic medicine company headquartered in New York City, pioneering cardiac genetic medicine candidates to treat the root causes of inherited cardiovascular diseases.
