We are looking for a Reservoir Engineer to join Ad Terra’s regional office in Kuala Lumpur. As part of the Reservoir Engineering team, you will contribute directly to reservoir evaluation, field development and production optimisation activities across our projects. The role is designed for an engineer with 2–5 years of experience who has developed solid technical foundations and is ready to take increasing ownership of reservoir engineering analyses and project deliverables. Working alongside experienced reservoir engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will apply reservoir engineering principles to real project challenges, develop your technical judgement, and progressively expand your responsibilities. We’re looking for solid technical foundations paired with real versatility — someone equally comfortable building toward deep reservoir engineering expertise and helping bring AI-assisted forecasting and modelling tools into how the team works. What You'll Do Reservoir Performance & Analysis • Analyse reservoir and production performance using pressure, production and well data • Perform material balance, decline curve and other reservoir engineering analyses • Identify production trends, uncertainties and potential optimisation opportunities • Contribute to reserves and resource evaluations and associated technical assessments Data & Quality Control • Gather, validate and interpret subsurface, production and well data • Assess data consistency and identify gaps or uncertainties affecting reservoir evaluations • Contribute to the definition of data acquisition and surveillance requirements • Maintain clear and traceable technical datasets and assumptions Reservoir Modelling & Forecasting • Build, update and quality-check reservoir engineering models • Contribute to history matching and reservoir model calibration • Perform production forecasts and scenario evaluations • Run sensitivity analyses to assess reservoir uncertainties and development options • Interpret modelling results and translate them into practical engineering conclusions AI & Digital Tools • Apply and help develop AI/ML-assisted production forecasting, decline-curve, and history-matching automation tools • Evaluate and pilot emerging AI tools to accelerate reservoir engineering analyses, scenario testing, and reporting • Contribute reservoir engineering domain expertise to Ad Terra's digital subsurface intelligence initiatives Field Development & Production Optimisation • Contribute to field development studies and evaluation of development concepts • Assess well performance and potential production optimisation opportunities • Support well planning, intervention and surveillance activities from a reservoir engineering perspective • Contribute reservoir engineering input to multidisciplinary technical decisions Technical Delivery & Projects • Take ownership of defined reservoir engineering analyses and work packages • Prepare technical notes, reports, presentations, maps, tables and supporting documentation • Present and discuss technical findings with project teams • Track assigned deliverables, assumptions, uncertainties and deadlines • Contribute actively to internal and client project meetings Collaboration & Development • Work closely with geoscientists, drilling, production and other engineering disciplines • Seek technical review and guidance where appropriate while progressively working with greater autonomy • Keep up to date with reservoir engineering methods, tools and industry developments • Share knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices within Ad Terra What You'll Bring • University degree (BSc or MSc) in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline • 2–5 years of relevant reservoir engineering experience • Prior exposure to Oil & Gas industry projects (internship, fieldwork, or early-career role) strongly preferred • Good understanding of reservoir engineering fundamentals and subsurface workflows • Experience working with production, pressure and reservoir data • Exposure to reservoir modelling, forecasting and/or reserves evaluation • Ability to analyse technical information and develop sound engineering conclusions • Good communication and technical reporting skills • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams • Strong organisation skills and willingness to take increasing ownership of technical work • Proficiency in relevant reservoir engineering software and Microsoft Office • Comfortable working with and developing AI tools (e.g., Python scripting, ML-assisted forecasting or proxy modelling) to support and automate reservoir engineering analyses • Familiarity with PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS) and the Malaysian upstream regulatory framework is an advantage What We Offer • Permanent, full-time local contract with statutory EPF / SOCSO / EIS contributions • Medical and insurance coverage; competitive annual leave • Structured mentoring from senior reservoir engineers and exposure to international multi-resource projects across Ad Terra's platform (Europe, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Asia-Pacific) Thank you for considering joining our team.
