What You’ll Do As a Sales Engineer at Black Duck, you will guide customers to success across three key areas: Technical Sales Partnership * Build strong relationships with prospective customers by understanding their technical and business needs * Deliver compelling product presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts * Clearly articulate the value of Black Duck solutions in addressing security, quality, and compliance challenges Technical Account Engagement * Support customers throughout their journey, driving successful adoption and long-term satisfaction * Partner with customers to plan and scale deployments across enterprise environments * Ensure a seamless transition from evaluation to implementation Thought Leadership * Represent Black Duck at industry events, conferences, and seminars * Engage with customers, prospects, and peers on the latest trends in application security * Contribute to technical communities, forums, and customer knowledge-sharing initiatives What You Bring * Hands-on software development experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, Java, C#, Objective-C * Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or Perl * Prior experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., Sales Engineer, Consultant, Technical Support, or similar) * Strong understanding of SDLC, including Agile and CI/CD practices * Familiarity with application security, software quality, and security tools (Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CSSLP are a plus) * A customer-first mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach * Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills * Ability to travel within Japan for customer engagements, as needed * Excellent communication skills with native-level Japanese and professional proficiency in English Why Black Duck?
