About GameChanger: We believe in the life-changing impact youth sports have on and off the field because they encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and confidence—important life lessons that have the power to propel our youth toward meaningful futures. We recognize that without coaches, parents, and volunteers, organized youth sports could not exist. By building the first and best place to experience the youth sports moments important to our community, we are helping families elevate the next generation through youth sports. So if you love sports and their community-building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you. We are a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today. The Position: GameChanger is building an AI Enablement team to transform how software is developed across the company. As a Senior AI Engineer, you’ll build AI-powered developer tooling, agentic workflows, and shared capabilities that help our engineering teams move faster and deliver with confidence. As an early member of this team, you’ll help shape our technical approach and priorities. You’ll work directly with engineering teams to understand their challenges, identify high-impact opportunities, and take solutions from experimentation through production rollout and ongoing improvement. Initial focus areas include AI-assisted code review, testing and validation, issue triage, and the shared infrastructure that supports effective AI use across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with production AI experience, strong backend and full-stack fundamentals, and a desire to multiply their impact by enabling others. You’ll bring technical judgment, curiosity, and initiative to a small team with an evolving roadmap and meaningful ownership. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager, AI Enablement. What You’ll Do: * Identify high-impact opportunities to improve software development with AI, partnering with engineering teams to understand their workflows and shape practical solutions. * Independently design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI tooling and agentic workflows, owning projects from discovery and technical design through rollout and iteration. * Develop AI-assisted engineering workflows, including code review, testing and validation, issue and crash triage, and development automation. * Build and evolve shared AI infrastructure that supports model access, vendor integrations, usage observability, and cost controls. * Create evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and feedback loops to measure reliability, adoption, and impact on engineering productivity and software quality. * Develop reusable skills, plugins, integrations, and engineering patterns that support teams across backend, web, iOS, and Android. * Drive adoption through hands-on partnership, documentation, training, and ongoing feedback, helping teams integrate AI into their everyday work. * Partner with Security, Platform, Quality Engineering, Product, and Design to establish appropriate guardrails, support codebase modernization, and evaluate when to build, buy, or adapt emerging AI capabilities. Who You Are: * Have 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend and full-stack fundamentals and experience designing and operating complex production systems. * Have personally built, deployed, and supported AI-powered systems or agentic workflows used by teams in a professional environment, with experience improving them after launch. * Bring practical depth in LLMs, tool use, agentic workflows, retrieval, and evaluations, along with experience incorporating AI into your own software development workflow. * Can turn ambiguous problems into useful solutions: you identify opportunities, make sound technical tradeoffs, and drive work independently from concept through adoption. * Communicate clearly and work effectively across teams, translating user needs into technical solutions and helping others adopt new tools and practices. Experience in developer tooling, developer experience, or platform enablement is a plus. * Can measure the quality and impact of AI systems through evaluations, observability, usage, feedback, and productivity outcomes. You’re comfortable learning across technology stacks and partnering with web and mobile engineers; direct iOS or Android experience is a plus. Perks: * Work remotely throughout the US* or from our well-furnished, modern office in Manhattan, NY. * Unlimited vacation policy. * Paid volunteer opportunities. * Technology stipend - $4,000 every 2 years after your start to make sure you have the latest and greatest technology. * WFH stipend - $500 annually to make your WFH situation comfortable. * Monthly physical, mental, wellness & learning stipend offered through Holisticly. * Monthly lifestyle stipend offered through Fringe. * Full health benefits - medical, dental, vision, prescription, FSA, HRA, HSA, and coverage for family/dependents. * Retirement savings - Traditional and Roth 401K plans are offered through Vanguard, with an immediate company match. * Life insurance - basic life, supplemental life, and dependent life. * Disability leave - short-term disability and long-term disability. * Company paid parental leave - up to 20 weeks for birthing parents and up to 12 weeks for non-birthing parents. * Family building benefits offered through Progyny. * DICK'S Sporting Goods and their family of brands teammate discount. The target salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $155,000. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board. * DICK'S Sporting Goods has company-wide practices to monitor and protect the company from significant compliance and monetary implications as it pertains to employer state tax liabilities. Due to said guidelines put in place, we are unable to hire in AK, DE, HI, IA, LA, MS, MT, OK, and SC. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Our Interview Process & AI AI is fundamental to how we envision the future of software development at GameChanger, and we believe great engineers know how to use it thoughtfully and effectively. Portions of the interview process for this role will incorporate AI tools so we can understand how you work through real engineering problems. We’ll clearly communicate expectations for each stage, including when AI use is encouraged or expected and when we want to understand your individual thinking. We’re interested in how you frame problems, guide and validate AI-assisted work, make technical decisions, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
