Get to Know our Team:    In Agoda’s Engineering department, we build the scalable and fault-tolerant systems.  Our systems cover all major areas of our business: website, mobile apps, affiliate apis, inventory and pricing, product information, customer data, communications, partner data, booking systems, payments, finance and more. These mission-critical systems change frequently with dozens of releases per day, so we must employ state-of-the-art CI/CD, experimentation and advanced testing techniques in order to make sure everything works without any downtime. We also ensure that our systems are self-healing, responding gracefully to extreme loads or unexpected input. In order to accomplish this, we use state-of-the-art languages like React, Redux state management, Javascript,  Kotlin, Scala, data technologies like Kafka, Aerospike and Big Data, and agile development practices. Most importantly though, we hire great people from all around the world and empower them to be successful. Whether it’s building new projects like Flights and Packages or innovating on the latest fintech idea or reimagining our existing business, you’ll make a big impact as part of our Engineering team.     THE OPPORTUNITY: As a Senior Engineering Manager at Agoda, you will lead multiple teams or a large engineering organization, driving technical direction, organizational scale, and business impact. Unlike the Engineering Manager role, this position focuses more on leading managers, shaping strategy, and driving cross-team execution. This role also offers the opportunity to lead teams working on fintech-related platforms and transaction-heavy systems, including areas connected to payments, financial operations, and other business-critical services where scalability, resilience, security, and reliability are essential. IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL GET TO: * Lead multiple engineering teams or a large organization. * Manage Engineering Managers, senior engineers, and technical leaders. * Drive strategic, cross-team initiatives and major engineering programs. * Set the technical roadmap and align it with business goals. * Partner with senior leadership, including Directors, VPs, and C-level stakeholders. * Develop engineering leaders through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. * Hire and scale high-performing teams and leadership talent. * Strengthen engineering culture through quality, ownership, and data-driven decisions. * Drive organizational excellence across backend, platform, data, and fintech-related engineering domains. * Oversee the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure systems that support high-volume, business-critical, and transaction-intensive workloads.
