We’re looking for a Senior Experience Strategist to join our team (Melbourne or Sydney) for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll be leading experience efforts across a range of clients and projects from digital products and services to brand and retail experiences, shaping strategy and delivering human-centred work that moves people and brands forward. With great progression, the chance to work with the latest technology and some of the world’s most famous brands, a normal day in the role of the Senior Experience Strategist includes: What You’ll Do (Day to Day) * Lead and deliver end-to-end experience strategy and design across complex digital, service, and brand touchpoints. * Own the design approach from discovery and framing through to delivery and optimisation. * Conduct and synthesise research and testing to uncover user needs, pain points, and opportunities. * Translate insight into artefacts like journey maps, service blueprints, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes. * Facilitate co-design and stakeholder workshops, driving alignment and clarity across disciplines. * Mentor and guide other designers, uplifting the craft and strategic thinking of the broader team. * Partnering with creative, strategy, and technology leads to shape integrated, experience-led solutions. * Champion design systems, accessibility, and best practice, ensuring our experiences are usable, inclusive, and delightful. * Present confidently to clients, helping them connect design thinking with business and customer outcomes. What You Bring: Essential * 5+ years’ experience in experience, service, or product design across agency, consultancy, or in-house environments. * Proven ability to lead projects and teams, managing client relationships and delivery outcomes. * Strong research and synthesis skills, translating insights into actionable design strategies. * Advanced proficiency in Figma, Miro, and related design and collaboration tools. * Expertise in information architecture, prototyping, and design systems. * Experience facilitating workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders. * A compelling portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end ownership, design impact, and team collaboration. Desirable * Some Agency experience - Akcelo can be a fast paced work environment and our senior team members will benefit from having experience working in similar places. * Experience in coaching and mentoring other designers. * Familiarity with CX strategy, behavioural design, or emerging tech (AI, motion, data-driven design). * Exposure to agile or hybrid project delivery environments. * Passion for evolving design practices and contributing to a creative culture.
