YOUR IMPACT As a senior engineer on the team, you will be intimately involved in architecture decisions that shape this product. You live and breathe cloud services that require high availability and fast, consistent performance. You bias all decisions towards consistent and trustworthy customer experiences, and you look to do things fast, reliably, and with scaling in mind. You operate in an AI-first engineering environment, where you leverage advanced AI systems to inform design decisions, accelerate development, and improve system reliability. You are expected to drive the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices across teams, ensuring scalable and efficient development workflows. You will work closely with product managers and designers to ensure we build the right solution for our customers, while also mentoring engineers in system design, user experience development and AI-first development practices. WHAT YOU’LL DO Location: Atlanta, Boston, Scottsdale, Seattle Direct Reports: None * Lead engineering architecture design reviews, incorporating AI-driven insights and system modelling * Set a high technical bar through code and architecture reviews, including evaluation of AI-generated code and patterns * Mentor engineers on scalable system design and AI-first development practices * Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows across the engineering organization * Work across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions * Improve engineering processes by embedding automation, AI tooling, and intelligent workflows into planning and execution * Build services that adhere to high standards of availability and latency in a mission-critical environment * Leverage AI systems to optimize performance, observability, and operational efficiency WHAT YOU BRING * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field * 6+ years of professional software development experience * Experience developing large-scale, consumer-facing web applications. * Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks (Angular, React). * Strong experience with building and bundling tools like Webpack. * Strong experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Jest, Karma). * Strong experience in optimizing web application performance, including code splitting, lazy loading, and reducing Time to Interactive (TTI). * Experience evaluating and integrating AI-assisted development tools into engineering workflows * Strong understanding of how AI can be applied to improve developer productivity, system design, and operational efficiency BENEFITS THAT BENEFIT YOU * Competitive salary and 401k with employer match * Discretionary paid time off * Paid parental leave for all * Medical, Dental, Vision plans * Fitness Programs * Emotional & Mental Wellness support * Learning & Development programs * Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) * And yes, we have snacks in our offices   Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
