SENIOR MANAGER, PUBLIC RELATIONS – FACTOR Location: Hybrid position to the New York City HelloFresh Headquarters ABOUT FACTOR At Factor, we’re on a mission to make real food the new standard for how the world eats. We believe convenience should never come at the expense of quality. That’s why every Factor meal is chef-crafted with premium ingredients, thoughtfully prepared in our kitchens, and ready to enjoy in just two minutes. As one of the dominant food brands in America, we’re redefining convenient eating through better ingredients, better nutrition, and a brand that’s challenging the status quo. From partnerships with Serena Williams and Hyrox to premium ingredient innovation and breakthrough creative, we’re building a modern food brand at the intersection of food, wellness, fitness, and culture. We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Public Relations who can help make Factor impossible to ignore. THE OPPORTUNITY This isn’t a traditional PR role. We’re looking for someone who knows how to create buzz, earn attention, and get people talking—not just secure coverage. As Senior Manager, Public Relations, you’ll help shape how consumers, media, creators, and industry leaders experience Factor. You’ll develop ideas and communications strategies built to travel across earned media, social, creators, partnerships, and culture. You’ll bring a social-first mindset to PR: identifying the stories, moments, conversations, talent, and creative ideas that can break through in feeds first and then expand into broader earned attention. You’ll own day-to-day public relations strategy, lead our agency partner, launch innovative products, amplify major brand partnerships, and find unexpected ways to put Factor into the cultural conversation. The goal is simple: create more moments people notice, share, talk about, and remember. Working across Brand Marketing, Creative, Organic Social, Growth, Culinary, Nutrition, Commercial, Legal, and Corporate Communications, you’ll play a critical role in building one of the most relevant and talked-about food brands in America. WHAT YOU’LL DO CREATE BUZZ & CULTURAL RELEVANCE * Develop ideas designed to generate conversation, earned attention, social sharing, and cultural relevance. * Identify emerging trends, conversations, memes, creators, events, and cultural moments Factor can credibly participate in. * Create proactive PR moments rather than relying primarily on traditional announcements and press releases. * Partner with Creative and Organic Social to develop ideas that can live across earned, owned, creator, and social channels. * Continuously ask: What would make people actually talk about this? * Find unexpected ways to put Factor into conversations happening across food, wellness, fitness, sports, and culture. LEAD WITH A SOCIAL-FIRST MINDSET * Approach communications through the lens of how stories will travel across social platforms, creators, media, and culture. * Work closely with Organic Social to identify real-time opportunities and turn cultural conversations into brand moments. * Help develop PR ideas with strong visual, video, creator, and social storytelling potential. * Identify opportunities for executives, chefs, nutrition experts, athletes, partners, and other brand voices to show up credibly in social conversations. * Think beyond the headline to how every major PR moment can generate content, conversation, and amplification. DEVELOP BRAND COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY * Develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned with Factor’s business and brand priorities. * Create compelling narratives that reinforce Factor’s leadership in real food, nutrition, and convenient healthy eating. * Build annual and seasonal communications plans supporting major marketing campaigns, product launches, partnerships, cultural moments, and business milestones. * Identify proactive storytelling opportunities that earn attention beyond traditional product announcements. * Ensure PR, social, creators, partnerships, and brand storytelling work together as one connected system. DRIVE EARNED MEDIA * Build and maintain strong relationships with national business, consumer, lifestyle, food, health, wellness, fitness, and marketing media. * Develop distinctive, timely media angles that generate high-quality earned coverage. * Build stories editors and journalists genuinely want to cover—not simply stories we want to tell. * Write press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, talking points, FAQs, and other communications materials. * Manage inbound media inquiries and coordinate interview opportunities. * Pursue quality, relevance, and conversation—not impressions for impressions’ sake. LEAD PRODUCT & INNOVATION COMMUNICATIONS * Develop breakthrough communications strategies for menu innovations, seasonal launches, premium ingredients, and new product initiatives. * Translate sourcing, culinary craftsmanship, nutrition expertise, and product innovation into stories consumers, creators, and media care about. * Find the provocative insight, cultural tension, or creative idea that can turn a product launch into a broader brand moment. * Partner closely with Culinary, Nutrition, Product Marketing, Brand, Social, and Creative teams to identify newsworthy moments throughout the year. AMPLIFY BRAND PARTNERSHIPS & ACTIVATIONS * Lead communications planning for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, talent, and major brand moments. * Maximize earned and social conversation surrounding athlete partnerships, experiential activations, and integrated marketing campaigns. * Develop creative ideas that extend partnerships beyond traditional announcements and sponsorship visibility. * Collaborate with talent, creators, internal teams, and agency partners to create moments with the potential to break through culturally. * Ensure every major partnership has an amplification strategy across earned media, social, creators, and content. ELEVATE EXECUTIVE VISIBILITY * Partner with senior leaders to build distinctive thought leadership platforms. * Identify media interviews, awards, podcasts, social platforms, and executive profile opportunities. * Develop clear points of view that executives can credibly own. * Create messaging, briefing materials, talking points, and interview preparation. * Help position Factor leaders as provocative, credible voices across food, nutrition, wellness, culture, and marketing. LEAD THE PR AGENCY * Lead the day-to-day relationship with Factor’s public relations agency. * Set a high bar for creativity, proactivity, speed, and cultural awareness. * Establish priorities, objectives, budgets, timelines, and performance expectations. * Push agency partners to bring proactive ideas—not simply execute briefs. * Hold partners accountable for generating meaningful attention, conversation, and business impact—not simply media impressions. * Build an always-on pipeline of stories, cultural opportunities, and breakthrough ideas. PROTECT & STRENGTHEN THE BRAND * Monitor brand sentiment, media conversations, and social dialogue to identify reputational risks and opportunities. * Help ensure consistent messaging across all external communications. * Move quickly and thoughtfully when conversations around the brand change. WHAT YOU’LL BRING * Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. * 6–9 years of public relations, brand communications, social, or integrated communications experience. * Experience working with high-growth consumer brands, preferably within food, CPG, wellness, lifestyle, fitness, sports, or consumer technology. * A track record of creating ideas or moments that generated meaningful buzz, earned attention, social conversation, or cultural relevance. * A strong understanding of how PR, social, creators, content, and culture increasingly work together. * Proven success developing integrated communications strategies that generate high-quality earned media. * Strong media relationships across national consumer, lifestyle, business, and trade outlets. * Experience managing external agencies and cross-functional stakeholders. * Outstanding writing, storytelling, presentation, and communication skills. * Strong creative instincts and an ability to recognize what will—or won’t—break through. * Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail. * Ability to operate with speed, curiosity, and good judgment in a fast-moving environment. * Experience working with celebrity talent, athletes, creators, or major partnerships * Experience creating social-first or culturally driven brand moments. * Passion for food, nutrition, wellness, fitness, and sports. SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE In your first year, you’ll: * Make Factor a more talked-about and culturally relevant brand. * Create a consistent pipeline of buzz-worthy ideas and moments that generate earned and social conversation. * Increase the quality, consistency, and impact of earned media coverage. * Establish a proactive, social-first communications calendar that consistently creates newsworthy moments. * Deliver standout communications around major brand campaigns, partnerships, product launches, and cultural moments. * Build stronger integration across PR, Organic Social, Creative, creators, and partnerships. * Build reporting that demonstrates the impact of communications on brand health, awareness, conversation, and business outcomes. * Become a trusted strategic and creative partner across Brand Marketing and the broader organization. You’ll get… (do not edit this list) * Competitive salary, 401k with company match that vests immediately upon participation * Generous PTO and parental leave of up to 16 weeks * Comprehensive health and wellness benefits with options at $0 monthly, effective first day of employment * Tuition reimbursement for continuing education (upon 2 years of service) * Up to 85% discount on subscriptions to HelloFresh meal plans (HelloFresh, Green Chef, Everyplate, and Factor_)    * Access to Employee Resource Groups that are open to all employees, including those pertaining to BIPOC, women, veterans, parents, and LGBTQ+ * Inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic work environment within a fast-paced, mission-driven company that is disrupting the traditional food supply chain This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities.
