It's a new day with a new opportunity at 8am! About the role: 8am is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the strategy and roadmap for our Identity and Access Management platform. IAM is the foundational infrastructure for every product we build. It's how our customers sign in, how we keep their data secure, and how we manage what people can see and do across our products. This is a high-leverage role: the decisions you make about authentication, authorization, and identity infrastructure ripple across the entire company and directly affect security, compliance, and the day-to-day experience of every user who touches an 8am product. You'll work closely with engineering, security, and platform teams to define what "good" looks like for identity at 8am, and you'll partner with product teams across the business who depend on IAM to build their own features safely and quickly. This role is hired through an Employer of Record (EOR) partner in the Czech Republic. About us: 8am builds software that helps professionals run stronger businesses. Our platform powers payments, client experience, and operational workflows for legal, accounting, and other service-based businesses. U.S. based professionals count on our purpose-built solutions to simplify operations, ensure compliance, and fuel profitable growth, so they can focus on their clients and do more of the work that matters. More than 250,000 professionals across the U.S. rely on our products every day. As we continue to grow, we’re investing in the next generation of our platform and are looking for experienced engineers who want to help shape its future. What you'll do: * Authentication & SSO: Own the roadmap for login flows, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, session management, and passwordless authentication. Balance security requirements with a frictionless user experience. * Authorization & Permissions: Define and evolve our approach to role-based access control and fine-grained entitlements, ensuring permissions models scale cleanly across multiple products and customer segments. * Platform & Infrastructure: Drive the strategy for the underlying identity platform (APIs, service-to-service auth, and integrations with internal services and third-party/partner systems) so other product teams can build on a reliable, well-documented identity layer. * Translate security, compliance, and business requirements into a clear, prioritized roadmap, and communicate trade-offs to engineering leadership and stakeholders. * Partner with engineering and security teams daily to scope, sequence, and ship IAM capabilities, from discovery through launch and iteration. * Act as the internal expert on identity for other product teams, providing guidance on how to safely build features that depend on authentication or authorization. * Define success metrics for the IAM platform (e.g., login success rate, MFA adoption, time-to-provision, incident rate) and use data to prioritize investment. * Represent the voice of the customer and the needs of internal engineering consumers of the IAM platform in roadmap decisions. About you: * Robust 5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning a platform, infrastructure, or security-adjacent product. * Direct experience with identity and access management concepts: authentication protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML), SSO, MFA, session management, and authorization/RBAC models. * Comfort operating in a technically complex domain * A track record of shipping platform capabilities that other internal teams build on, not just customer-facing features. * Strong prioritization skills and the judgment to balance security/compliance requirements against speed and usability. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical identity concepts clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. * Experience working with security and compliance teams (e.g., SOC 2, data privacy requirements) is preferreda plus. * Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation. Additional Information The monthly gross salary range for this position is CZK 1,900,000 to CZK 2,050,000. 8am is committed to fair, objective, and non-discriminatory compensation, and actual pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. Why join our new 8am Czech Republic hub? * Founding Team Impact: Be a founding engineer of our new Czech Republic R&D hub. After a brief 1-6 month integration with U.S. based teams, you will help form fully autonomous, locally-led squads with clear paths to Staff and leadership roles with the exciting opportunity to collaborate face-to-face with your team in our upcoming Brno office. * Drive our "AI-First" Transformation: We are building a secure, massive-scale "Unified AI Platform". Depending on your squad, you will either help architect this core infrastructure (LLM routing, RAG, agent orchestration) or build directly on top of it. * Build the Next Generation of Our Platform: Help shape the systems powering products used by more than 250,000 professionals. You’ll work on complex platform capabilities across payments, workflow automation, and AI-powered features as we expand into new professional service markets. Benefits and Perks We offer a competitive, locally relevant benefits package designed to support your life in the Czech Republic while giving you access to global opportunities: * Performance bonus opportunities and employee referral rewards * Flexible Time Off (FTO) and 13 paid public holidays aligned with the Czech calendar * Paid sick leave with additional support through the Czech social security system * Maternity, paternity, and parental leave in line with Czech regulations, plus additional paid paternity leave from 8am * Full statutory benefits, including public health insurance, social security, pension, and work accident coverage Grow Your Career * Access to Coursera (including Gen AI Academy) and ongoing professional development * Clear growth paths, regular feedback, and opportunities for advancement What Makes 8am Different: * International company environment with collaboration across Europe and the U.S. * Opportunities to travel for company events (including potential U.S. visits) * Engaging team culture with local events, outings, and community initiatives * Office spaces in Brno and Prague with opportunities to work in-person and enjoy a flexible hybrid setup Diversity, equity & inclusion at 8am: At 8am, we recognize that innovation occurs with a strong team of people who are diverse in background, personality, talent and ideas. Experience comes in many forms and ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where we continue to learn from each other is an integral part of our culture. We are committed to creating a welcoming and transparent environment for all that embraces those differences through education, equal access to opportunities and information, inclusionary programs, and community outreach.
