🔍 About Us CorePlan was born in Perth, Western Australia, and has since gone global. With another office in Vancouver and a team across 12 countries, we support customers around the world. Our cloud-native platform replaces legacy systems and spreadsheets with one intuitive, integrated tool that helps mining teams and their contractors plan, run and track their drilling programs. We were recently named WA Tech Company of the Year 2026, an award that belongs to our whole team. We obsess over the customer experience and refuse to be lumped in with clunky enterprise software. Our goal is software that’s as easy to use as the modern apps you rely on every day. About the role As a Software Engineer focused on internal tooling and enablement, your customers are your colleagues. You’ll sit within the engineering team and build the AI-powered tools, automations and integrations that help every team at CorePlan, from Support and Sales to Customer Success, Finance and Product, work faster and spend less time on repetitive tasks. You’ll work directly with teams across the business to understand how they work, find where AI can remove friction, and ship tools people actually want to use. 🛠 What you will do * Design, build and ship internal tools end-to-end, such as chatbots, knowledge centres and workflow automations. * Connect our internal systems and third-party platforms through robust integrations and APIs, so information flows to the people who need it. * Partner with teams across the company to identify high-impact opportunities, prototype quickly and iterate based on real feedback. * Help teams get the most from AI by building reusable patterns, sharing best practice and running demos and workshops. * Build with care: think about data access, security, accuracy and cost so that internal tools are trustworthy and sustainable. * Take part in agile planning and estimation, present your work in regular review sessions, and take part in code and design reviews with senior engineers and architects. * Resolve issues with the tools you own and help teammates troubleshoot. * Keep learning. The automation landscape moves fast, and we want you to stay on top of new models, tools and techniques and bring the best of them into the business. 🙌 Qualifications and Fit * 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including internal tools, automation, or platform work. * Experience with TypeScript, Python, React or similar modern languages and frameworks. * Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI tooling, such as chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, prompt design or workflow automation. * Solid understanding of API design, integrating with third-party systems, and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and cloud services (AWS preferred). * Comfortable using AI tools daily to speed up coding, debugging and everyday workflows. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical colleagues, understand how they work, and translate their needs into practical solutions. * A proactive, product-minded approach and genuine curiosity about how AI can make a whole company move faster. * A collaborative, team-first attitude and a passion for building tools people love to use. 🚀 Key Projects You will work on initiatives such as: * Building internal chatbots and knowledge centres that give every team instant, accurate answers drawn from our docs, tickets and data. * Automating repetitive workflows across Support, Sales, Customer Success and Finance so people can focus on higher-value work. * Integrating our internal systems and third-party tools so data and context flow seamlessly between them. * Creating shared AI tooling, templates and guardrails that make it easy and safe for any team to build with AI. * Measuring impact, tracking time saved, adoption and quality, to decide what to build and improve next. 🎁 Why Our Team Loves Working Here * Impact & Autonomy: You own what you build, from architecture choices to production releases, and you see the impact straight away in how your colleagues work. Your work will make the whole company faster. * Modern stack, AI-enabled: Build with modern tools in a team that embraces AI to remove friction and move faster. AI supports our engineers instead of replacing them. We value the human in the loop: the judgement and lived experience that turn fast output into well-thought-out solutions, unlike the vibe-coded tools flooding the web. Every engineer owns the code they ship, regardless of who or what wrote it. If you like using AI to build better software and help others do the same, you’ll fit right in. * Perth CBD Location & Flexibility: Work from our beautiful office at The Palace in the heart of the Perth CBD, with a hybrid model that balances deep focus time with team connection. * Vibrant Culture & Perks: A supportive team that invests in your growth with hack days, a conference and learning budget, and regular lunch and learns. We look after you with an onsite wellness centre, parental leave top-up pay and EAP support for you and your family, and keep things fun with an office jukebox and corporate swag. 🚀 Ready for your next adventure?
