BASIC FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  Join our team as a Special Education Resource Center Associate (RCA) and make a real impact on students’ learning! Under the guidance of an Education Specialist, you will support students in grades TK–5 or 6–12 by helping implement goals from their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and assisting with the daily operations of our vibrant community-based resource centers. RCAs are an integral part of the instructional team, serving as role models and ambassadors for the school. This part-time, hourly position offers 25 hours per week and the opportunity to inspire and support students every day. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the primary job elements. * Provide constructive feedback to students * Support each individual student’s PATHWAYS PERSONALIZED EDUCATION PLAN (PPEP) and IEP * Sign and abide by all educational testing affidavits  * Communicate with students and parents relating to school events, academic engagement, and progress * Assist teachers with testing and supervision  * Attend required professional development opportunities and staff meetings throughout the school year  * Assist in conducting student home visits * Support teachers with resource center management related to a safe and positive school culture * Support teachers with the development of a monthly resource center calendar * Maintain a clean and organized learning environment for students * Assist education specialist with scheduling SAI appointments, IEP meetings, and assessments. Assist with progress monitoring, data collection, and case management. * Deliver Specialized Academic Instruction per student IEPs * Perform other duties as assigned or changed with or without notice. * Maintain consistent and regular attendance.   QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: * Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent * Completion of two years college coursework from an accredited college or university          (Minimum of 48 semester units) * Pass a workstyles/behavior survey and math assessment * Excellent organization, time management, and record keeping skills * Experience working with youth and specialized student populations preferred * Reliable transportation * TB Clearance * Obtain Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance through the DOJ and FBI   KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: * Understand the school’s Vision, Mission, and Values  * Demonstrate respect and appreciation for differences in values, languages, and customs among home, school, and community * General understanding of instructional strategies and use of curriculum resources * General knowledge of California Common Standards in core subject areas * Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)    WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Indoor, office setting; exposure to computer screens. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Hearing and speaking to exchange information with staff and students; seeing to read, proofread, perform clerical tasks, and work on a computer screen; intermittent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting and carrying light objects; driving a vehicle to attend visits at resource centers and staff meetings.
