ROLE DESCRIPTION Form Energy is seeking a Staff Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability and lifetime of our iron-air battery cell. As part of our Reliability team, you will work closely with the Cell and Electrode Engineering teams to develop test plans, analyze data, and define critical design requirements. This role will require hands-on work in the lab and cross functional collaboration. You will evaluate, analyze, and propose design-for-reliability solutions to understand novel problems and increase the product lifetime. Relocation assistance is available. WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Act as the primary authority on Design for Reliability (DfR) for critical battery components, mentoring peers and guiding cross-functional DFMEAs * Translate high-level product goals into rigorous reliability requirements and define the roadmap for verifying component lifetimes * Design and execute complex experiments and accelerated life tests (ALT) to uncover failure mechanisms * Perform advanced statistical analysis to translate test data into robust reliability and lifetime prediction models * Partner with design owners to de-risk and down-select next-iteration cell and electrode concepts based on reliability data and analysis * Partner with the Manufacturing, Process, and Quality teams to evaluate and improve reliability of the product being manufactured at our factory * Champion for safety, especially in the development of new laboratory processes and test methods WHAT YOU'LL BRING: * Degree in Engineering or a related field with 7+ years of hands-on industry experience in product development and hardware reliability * Deep expertise in developing reliability test plans, accelerated life tests, and statistical data analysis packages (using JMP, Python, Minitab, or Reliasoft) * Strong understanding of Reliability and Quality fundamentals and industry best practices * Proven ability to independently advance experiments from conception through execution and root cause analysis * Excellent cross-functional communication skills with a track record of effectively sharing reliability concepts with diverse product teams #LI-Onsite Humanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy’s culture, and we make sure our compensation and benefits reflect that.
