Position Overview: The Project Superintendent at Adams Contracting, LLC, is a field-based position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of heavy, highway, and civil construction projects Tennessee and Kentucky. This role ensures that all on-site activities are executed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The superintendent maintains strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. They report directly to the Project Manager of each assigned project. This role also requires experience in operating construction equipment, as the superintendent may need to operate machinery on-site when necessary.   Key Responsibilities: 1. On-Site Project Management: * Supervise all on-site activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and plans. * Direct the day-to-day work of all on-site personnel, including subcontractors and suppliers, to maintain workflow and prevent delays. * Interpret and implement construction layouts from surveyor's stakes with precision. 2. Quality Assurance & Safety: * Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections. * Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with regulations. * Conduct daily safety talks and weekly toolbox safety meetings. * Submit equipment inspections, daily reports, and all other weekly reporting to the office. 3. Equipment Operation & Oversight: * Operate construction equipment as needed to support project goals, maintaining proficiency in relevant equipment. * Oversee the proper use and maintenance of all equipment on-site, coordinating with the Operations Manager to ensure equipment availability and functionality. 4. Team Leadership & Coordination: * Lead and motivate on-site teams, promoting a high-performance culture. * Facilitate communication between on-site teams, the Project Manager, and other stakeholders. 5. Resource Management: * Manage on-site resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment. * Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure the availability and functionality of necessary equipment. 6. Problem Solving & Risk Management: * Identify potential issues promptly and develop effective solutions. * Address project-related challenges to minimize disruptions. 7. Documentation & Reporting: * Maintain accurate on-site documentation and reports for project progress. * Ensure timely submission of reports to the Project Manager and office. 8. Client & Stakeholder Interaction: * Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients and stakeholders. * Ensure client needs are met and expectations are exceeded.   Key Results Areas (KRAs): 1. Timely Project Execution: * Ensure all on-site activities are completed on schedule without compromising quality or budget. 2. Safety & Quality Standards: * Uphold and promote safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. * Conduct daily safety talks and weekly toolbox safety meetings. * Submit equipment inspections, daily reports, and all other weekly reporting to the office. 3. Accurate Layout Implementation: * Precisely interpret and implement construction layouts from surveyor's stakes. 4. Team Effectiveness: * Cultivate a cohesive and efficient on-site team that aligns with company values. 5. Resource Optimization: * Efficiently allocate on-site resources to enhance productivity and prevent delays. 6. Client Satisfaction: * Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and service delivery.   Qualifications: * Over 7 years of experience in supervising heavy/highway construction projects. * Proven ability to manage on-site operations effectively and efficiently. * Competence in interpreting plans, specifications, and implementing construction layouts from surveyor's stakes. * Experience operating construction equipment is required, with the ability to operate machinery as needed on-site.   Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with DOT, COE, and other regulatory requirements is highly desirable.   Skills & Competencies: * Strong leadership and team management skills. * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Effective organizational and multitasking capabilities. * Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. * Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
