A Resource Management Specialist plays a key role in aligning talent with business needs across the organization. This position partners closely with business leaders, Human Resources, and employees to support effective staffing, utilization, workload balancing, and workforce planning. WHAT YOU GET: * Total rewards package: from flexible work arrangements to personalized benefit structures and financial compensation options that give you choice and flexibility * Well-being resources: interactive wellness platform and incentives, an employee assistance program and mental health resources, and Colleague Resource Groups (CRGs) * Balance & flexibility: 14 Firm Holidays including 2 floating, Flex PTO, paid family leave, winter break, summer hours, and remote work options, so you can balance challenging yourself with taking care of yourself. * Professional development opportunities: A learning culture with CPA exam resources and bonuses, a coach program, and live classes, workshops, and seminars through BPM University WHO IS SUCCESSFUL AT BPM: * Caring people who put others first * Self-starters who embody the BPM entrepreneurial spirit * Authentic individuals with a diverse point of view * Lifelong learners with a drive to excel * Resilient people who rise to the occasion RESPONSIBILITIES: * Coordinate resource planning and staffing activities to support efficient deployment of employees across engagements, projects, and teams. * Maintaining accurate and timely resource information within designated scheduling and workflow tools and systems, and reinforcing consistent use of centralized RM processes and tools * Monitor employee utilization, availability, workload, and progress toward chargeable-hour goals. * Identify staffing gaps, capacity constraints, and opportunities to better balance workloads across teams. * Onboard and train new colleagues on scheduling processes, policies, tools, and best practices. * Lead and facilitate scheduling discussions with business leaders to identify resource needs, resolve staffing conflicts, and address capacity concerns. * Partner with Engagement Managers to determine appropriate staffing solutions based on business needs, employee experience, skills, and development goals. * Use scheduling, project management, and reporting tools to forecast resource needs, track scheduled versus actual utilization, and monitor headcount. * Review weekly staffing schedules, availability reports, and utilization data to identify trends and recommend appropriate actions. * Support employee reassignments related to leaves of absence, departures, organizational changes, and shifting business needs. * Build strong relationships with employees and leaders to support effective staffing decisions and long-term career development to understand business needs, individual skills and development goals to support thoughtful staffing decisions. * Support international teams and resources across different time zones as needed. * Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives related to resource management and workforce planning. REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience. * 2–3+ years of experience in professional services, project management, workforce planning, or a related field; or 1–2+ years of direct resource management, resource planning, or scheduling experience. * ability to exercise sound judgement, ask effective questions, and respectfully challenge or offer alternatives when staffing requests conflict with capacity, priorities or broader business needs. * Experience within public accounting or another professional services environment is preferred. * Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret utilization, staffing, capacity, and workforce data. * Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels. * Strong client-service mindset and the ability to navigate competing priorities in a changing environment. * Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. * Experience with resource management, scheduling, reporting, or workflow platforms; familiarity with Power BI, and CCH Workflow is a plus. * Ability to learn new systems quickly and train others on software functionality, processes, and best practices.
