WordPress Developer – Global Wave Group  Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based)   Reports to: Head of IT    Key Responsibilities  * Develop and maintain the website using WordPress and PHP.  * Build responsive, high-performance web pages from UI/UX designs.  * Customize WordPress themes & plugins; write clean PHP code.  * Optimize website performance, speed, SEO structure, and user experience.  * Troubleshoot bugs, refine workflows, and improve site functionality.  * Work closely with product, marketing, and design teams to deliver updates.  Essential Requirements  * 3+ years of experience in WordPress or Front-End Development.  * Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.  * Strong PHP programming skills.  * Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.  * Hands-on experience with WordPress themes, plugins, hooks, and filters.  * Understanding of SEO-friendly site structure.  * Professional English (written & verbal), Conversational Mandarin is a plus.  Desirable  * Experience with Element, WPBakery, or building custom plugins.  * Experience in the financial industry.  * Knowledge of REST APIs & website integrations.  * Familiarity with hosting, DNS, and server environments.
