Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Draftsman to support the development and execution of custom environments and specialty fabrication projects. This role serves as a critical link between creative vision and physical production, transforming design concepts into accurate technical documentation and build-ready plans. Reporting directly to the Creative Director, the Draftsman will collaborate with internal design teams, project managers, fabricators, and external production partners to develop technical drawings, construction details, material specifications, and fabrication documentation that ensure successful project execution from concept through installation. This position offers exposure to a diverse range of projects, from custom furniture and small-scale installations to large medical, experiential, architectural, retail, and branded environment builds. Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, construction documents, shop drawings, and fabrication packages from conceptual designs. * Produce detailed plans, elevations, sections, assembly drawings, and installation documentation. * Create and maintain material schedules, hardware schedules, bill of materials (BOM), and fabrication specifications. * Translate conceptual designs into buildable solutions while maintaining design intent and production feasibility. * Research and incorporate applicable building codes, ADA requirements, safety standards, and project-specific regulations into design documentation. * Collaborate with designers, fabricators, engineers, vendors, and installation teams throughout project development. * Generate production-ready files for CNC routing, laser engraving, cutting systems, and digital fabrication equipment. * Assist in the operation and preparation of files for 3D printing, prototyping, and rapid fabrication processes. * Review fabrication methods, assembly requirements, and installation procedures to identify and resolve potential production challenges. * Participate in design reviews and project coordination meetings to communicate construction intent and technical requirements. * Perform field measurements, site verification, and as-built documentation when required. * Maintain organized drawing standards, revision logs, and project documentation. * Support value engineering efforts through efficient design detailing and material selection. * Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. * Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality. * Ability to think both creatively and practically. * Effective communicator capable of working with designers, clients, fabricators, and installers. * Passion for transforming creative ideas into real-world experiences. * Proactive and self-motivated with a hands-on approach to project development. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Skills/Knowledge: * Critical problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments. * Talking to others to convey information effectively; active listening—giving full attention, understanding points made, asking appropriate questions, and respectful interaction. * Time management and coordination skills. * Background in experiential marketing, exhibit fabrication, museum environments, healthcare facilities, retail environments, architectural millwork, or themed entertainment. * Familiarity with ADA, IBC, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards. Preferred Education or Experience: * 2-5 years of professional experience in drafting, CAD design, technical design, fabrication detailing, architecture, industrial design, or a related field preferred. * Proficiency in: * AutoCAD * Will consider proficiency in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, Revit, Inventor, Blender, Sketchup or similar software * Experience creating fabrication drawings, construction documentation, technical specifications, and production packages. * Understanding manufacturing, fabrication, woodworking, metalworking, and assembly processes. * Familiarity with material selection, hardware specification, and production methods. * Working knowledge of dimensional tolerancing and drafting standards. * Ability to interpret sketches, concept renderings, and design intent into accurate technical documentation. Work Schedule: * Weekday position * On-site preferred (Hybrid or Remote arrangements considered for qualified candidates) Travel Requirements: * Occasional site visits, installations, and vendor coordination as required.
