Main duties include using tools to identify and diagnose potential issues with a customer’s vehicle, explain problems with the vehicle to the customer and perform maintenance on the vehicles to fix or prevent them from future breakdowns or issues.   Duties/Responsibilities: * Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Repair brake and steering systems. * Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems. * Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed. * Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling. * Perform emissions inspections, safety checks and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations. * Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed. * Must read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records. * Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed. * Maintain a clean, safe working environment. Required Skills/Abilities: * Understanding of automotive systems. * Ability to use the diagnostic equipment and tools including power tools. * Willingness to learn with hands-on training. * Ability to maintain a professional appearance. * Ability to provide friendly customer service. Education and Experience: * Automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training preferred. * Working knowledge of state inspection guidelines, particularly those concerning emissions and safety, is advantageous. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * ASE certifications required. Physical Requirements: * May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs. * Good hand-eye coordination. * Prolonged periods of standing. * Frequent reaching, bending, squatting, pulling and lifting.
