Position Summary: The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. This position is in charge of installing electrical wiring in commercial buildings, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing electrical systems. Essential Responsibilities: * Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, alarm, and other electrical systems. * Examine diagrams of circuits, outlets, load centers, and panel boards. * Follow state and local building codes during installation and inspection. * Install electrical fixtures and equipment for complete electrical systems. * Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.). * Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components. * Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them. * Consult with engineers, engineering technicians, line installers and repairers, or industrial machinery mechanics and maintenance workers when performing installations. * Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc. * Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions, and repair or substitute damaged units.   Leadership Skills and Characteristics: * Reliable and responsible for quality work. * Effective time-management skills. * Team collaboration skills. * Able to work independently with minimal supervision and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. * Positive attitude. Immediate Supervisor: This position reports to the Electrical Superintendent.
