We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our US Corporate tax practice in Toronto! This versatile role will involve working directly with a number of our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual who is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in managing tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients.  Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross border investment and compliance. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.   Your primary responsibilities will include: * Prepare and review (where applicable) US  corporate and partnership tax returns, etc. * Verify tax assessments * Perform technical research and documenting tax plan recommendations * Correspond with US clients, other advisors and tax authorities * Coordinate and manage client accounts * Assist managers and partners with tax initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing tax planning strategies for clients * Understand, analyze and research tax queries for clients, Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers * Collaborate with and support team members in providing exceptional client service * Provide leadership and direction to junior team members to ensure completion of filings by designated deadlines; and * Other duties as assigned A successful candidate will have: * US CPA or Enrolled Agent. Will consider CPA, CA or working towards a CPA designation; completion of UFE/CFE * Minimum of two years of US tax experience * Experience working in a public practice Accounting Firm is an asset * Ability to provide exceptional client service * Adept organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines * Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written * Attention to detail * Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload and multiple deadlines * Experience with CCH tax preparation software will be an asset.
