Your impact Following the first exciting months of initial market validation, we're doubling down on our growth in Spain. Joining our Sales Iberia team as a Senior Business Development Representative based in Lisbon, you'll own the full sales lifecycle to accelerate Mollie’s expansion in the Spanish market. You'll focus on unlocking the untapped small to mid-market merchant segment—specifically target businesses in e-commerce, fashion, electronics, and tourism with up to €250,000 in monthly transaction volume. You'll help define and scale our Spanish go-to-market strategy by showing local merchants why product quality, seamless onboarding, and superior user experience beat traditional, price-driven bank solutions. From initial cold outreach to closing deals and guiding merchants until they go live, your work will directly drive our market presence and fuel Mollie’s European mission. Working closely with the local BD team, sales engineers, and customer success teams, you will tackle market dynamics head-on, build a high-performing pipeline, and establish Mollie as the go-to payment partner across Spain. What you'll ship * Drive the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and initial outreach to discovery, negotiation, contract handling, and onboarding follow-up. * Build and manage a structured pipeline of small-to-mid market e-commerce and retail merchants, balancing short-term closes with complex 2-to-6-month negotiations. * Conduct discovery meetings to uncover merchant pain points, value-sell Mollie’s superior product experience, and effectively navigate price objections. * Execute data-driven activity planning to consistently achieve key outreach milestones, including reaching 25 connected calls per week. * Collaborate cross-functionally with sales engineers and customer success managers to ensure seamless technical support and handoffs for complex merchant deals. What you'll bring * Solid full-cycle sales experience (ideally ~2 years in full-cycle sales alongside previous SDR experience), preferably within payments, fintech, or SaaS. * Proven track record in structured outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and C-level negotiation within SMB segments. * Demonstrated ability in value-based selling and navigating complex sales cycles longer than one month. * Strong capability in data-driven pipeline planning, forecasting, and contract handling. * High drive, motivation, and strong communication skills to dive deep into payment solutions and solve merchant challenges. * Professional fluency in both Spanish and English.
