The Distribution team are responsible for the development and execution of the Allica Bank commercial strategy to generate profitable opportunities to meet SME customer needs safely by working with customers and Commercial Mortgage Introducers across Britain. Based on using modern tools, having local relationships and tailored expertise’. Within the Distribution team sits the Specialist Relationship Managers (“SRM”) team who originate and manage all Healthcare Transactions (including Elderly Care Homes, Specialist Care Homes and Children’s Day Nurseries) across the Bank. Role Description Reporting to the Head of Healthcare, you will be responsible for supporting the management and development of relationships across a portfolio of remotely managed SME healthcare clients throughout the UK, with a particular focus on elderly care, specialist learning disability providers and children's day nursery operators. Your role will be the relationship contact point for these businesses, delivering high-quality in-life portfolio management, monitoring customer performance and covenant compliance, supporting periodic credit reviews, and contributing to the seamless delivery of Allica Bank's Healthcare lending proposition. First and foremost, this is a relationship-driven role, and we are seeking candidates who are comfortable engaging with business owners and building strong professional relationships. You will be passionate and curious about understanding customers' businesses, their plans and ambitions, and how Allica can support their growth, while ensuring effective portfolio oversight and risk management. Principal Accountabilities * Support Specialist Relationship Managers in managing a portfolio of SME healthcare customers across the UK, including elderly care homes, specialist care providers and children's day nurseries. * Act as the primary point of contact for in-life portfolio management matters, including information undertakings, covenant compliance, financial monitoring and customer reviews. * Analyse management information, audited accounts, cash flow forecasts and business plans to assess performance, monitor financial health and identify emerging risks. * Monitor covenant compliance, undertake regular portfolio reviews and escalate emerging risks, issues and exceptions to the relevant Relationship Manager. * Prepare annual customer reviews, periodic credit reviews, credit application system submissions and associated portfolio monitoring documentation in line with credit policy requirements. * Utilise data analytics, AI tools and portfolio monitoring systems to enhance customer oversight, improve efficiency and support effective portfolio management. * Work collaboratively with Relationship Managers, Credit, Operations, Collections and Recoveries to support customer outcomes and agreed remediation strategies where required. * Maintain strong governance through adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, policies, procedures and Allica's values. Personal Attributes & Experience * You will need to have a good understanding of SME banking and lending, together with experience of other commercial asset classes. * You will have a strong background in excel including the ability to model sets of financial accounts and management information * You will have the ability to analyse accounts and management information to understand the underlying financial performance of the business against set covenants. * You will be comfortable with tracking and managing key metrics within the team portfolio, with appropriate escalation where required. * You will be able to evidence the ability to work independently when supporting established SMEs with their requirements. * You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * You’ll be able to evidence an ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to effectively manage the existing portfolio and provide exceptional customer outcomes.
