Main Responsibilities * Conduct laboratory tests and experiments using specialised equipment and techniques * Analyse and interpret test results, documenting findings accurately * Operate laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance * Maintain accurate records of all tests, experiments, and procedures performed * Conduct quality control tests to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry standards * Assist with the preparation of samples * Perform routine analyses * The operation, basic maintenance, and cleaning of laboratory equipment * Practice safe work habits and create a safe working environment * Ad hoc or other related duties as assigned Skills and Capabilities * Able to carefully plan, organise and prioritise tasks * Excellent attention to detail * Able to work well independently and as part of a team * Flexible and adjustable to the laboratory needs * Able to maintain high standards under pressure * Responsible, self-motivating and dedicated * Effective communication skills, including the ability to understand and execute instructions * Able to follow through on tasks, report accordingly and in a timely manner * High levels of cleanliness and honesty Minimum Requirements Qualifications * Bachelor of Science degree with Microbiology as a major Experience * 1 to 2 years' experience in a laboratory working environment Other specific requirements * Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English) * High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
